On August 18, the 8th BRICS Energy Ministerial Conference was held in Johannesburg, South Africa. He Yang, deputy director of the National Energy Administration of China, was invited to attend the meeting and make a speech.

　　He Yang said the BRICS mechanism, which acts on the concept of "openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation ", has always been an important platform for cooperation among developing countries and emerging markets, and is committed to consolidating solidarity, mutual assistance and safeguarding common interests through partnership. China is willing to deepen energy co-operation with BRICS partners, especially in enhancing energy security co-operation, promoting energy transition to being green and low-carbon, exchanging energy technologies and sharing experience in energy industry development, etc.

　　He was also invited to have a short consultation with Shulginov, Russian Energy Minister.

　　The meeting was chaired by Mantashe, Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy of South Africa, and attended by Russian Secretary of Energy, with representatives of Brazil and India taking part in.
